Accounts Assistant

ROLE: Accounts Assistant

As an Accounts Assistant, you will contribute as a key member of the finance team. You will assist and take ownership of your role and responsibilities in a fast paced environment within a dynamic finance team and assist with daily, weekly and monthly tasks within the department.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assistance in the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Month end payment runs
  • Accounts payable
  • Accounts receivable
  • Payroll processing
  • UK & ROI VAT processing
  • Preparing statements and reports
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Management and processing of staff expenses
  • Banking lodgements and cash flow
  • General ledger entries and adjustments
  • Assisting with financial administration duties
  • Management of company fleet vehicles – tax, insurance etc.
  • Provide support and assistance to finance team
  • Ad hoc projects

 

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Accounting Technician qualified or part-qualified or equivalent on the job experience
  • Proven experience in a similar role within a finance department
  • Experienced in using a range of financial software packages – SAP, Sage Payroll, Timeware (training provided)
  • Experience managing a wide range of vendors and supplier accounts

  • Excellent record keeping skills
  • Ability to liaise at all levels within the organisation
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and multi task to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to effectively communicate, influence and collaborate with key stakeholders
  • Proficient across MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong team player and ability to collaborate across multiple teams and ability to work independently
