About SF

The role:

To play a key role in the Design Department in ensuring that SF Engineering has a range of high quality, technically innovative and commercially competitive products suitable for the food industry as a stand-alone or full line solution, producing high quality drawing packs for the purpose of manufacture

Responsibilities (not limited to):

• Produce SolidWorks models/drawings working from concepts/layout drawings
• Assist Project Engineers in taking live projects from inception to completion
• Design and develop new products for the food processing industry
• Design and develop enhancements to SF’s existing product range
• Support other departments where required on issues of a technical nature
• Production and maintenance of technical documentation as required
• Ensure that products meet all mandatory legislation (Design RA, CE Manuals)
• Constant interrogation of product design to identify and implement cost savings and manufacturing/process improvements
• Specification of mechanical components such as belts, motors and pneumatics.

Person:

• Experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment is desirable
• Experience in sheet metal and fabrication desirable
• Fully conversant with SolidWorks
• Ability to work independently and part of a team
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and multi task to meet tight deadlines
• High attention to detail
• Flexibility with working hours
• Strong communicator focused on solutions

Other:

The successful applicant may be required to work on site for customers as and when the need arises. This may require overnight stays and working away from home weekdays and weekends.
